First Communion

In the Eucharist, we receive the Body and Blood of Christ.  The Eucharist is the source and summit of who we are as Catholic Christians; it is spiritual food which strengthens us as we strive to be the Body of Christ on earth.  Catholics are encouraged to receive Eucharist frequently and with devotion.

Children who have reached an age where they can distinguish between the Eucharist and ordinary food can receive first Eucharist (first communion), once they have received appropriate preparation.  They may prepare to celebrate the sacrament either through our Faith Formation program or at St. Joseph School

Adults who wish to prepare for first Eucharist can participate in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults.
