Pilgrimage to "Our Lady of Fatima" with the Holy Father Benedict XVI
Written by Fr. Kenneth Nobrega
Friday, 11 June 2010

All revelation, the revealing of our Lord's Divine will and truth, ended with the death of the last Apostle. There are no hidden secrets that are pertinent for our salvation that have not been disclosed. But this doesn't mean that God doesn't allow supernatural signs and supernatural apparitions, which allow believers and non-believers glimpses of the Divine will and God's goodness in our ongoing salvation history. In God's goodness he allows us these holy reminders and messages as encouragements to follow the path that will lead us to eternal life. The key for us is that such manifestations can never contradict the content of faith passed on to us by the Apostles, the witnesses of Jesus Christ's ministry, death and resurrection.

In the case of Catholic education, this requires great financial sacrifice in addition to the usual support.

Unfortunately, war has not gone out of style.  Military men and women, as well as civilians, continue to die in violent conflicts. It is fitting to honor bravery and dedication, while at the same time praying that the human race may outgrow its irrational dependence on warfare, and that the need for such sacrifice may one day be banished from the earth.
