On Monday we observe Labor Day. Our patron, St. Joseph, is also the patron saint of workers. By his work he supported the Holy Family. His most important "apprentice" was his foster son. Jesus was a worker for most of His life.

Oktoberfest is Around the Corner |

Our annual Oktoberfest (October 3 & 4) is a wonderful event. For those who plan it, the event begins months before. During those meetings, a dedicated group of people grow together as a team, some veterans, some newcomers. All this effort is unseen. It only becomes evident when the first weekend of October rolls around, and, as if by magic, booths and people to staff them appear on the school grounds. The success of the weekend is the result of countless hours of volunteer planning and help.

Elsewhere in today's bulletin, you will find the announcement that the Mass Intention book is about to be opened, accompanied by a short explanation of Mass intentions. It is a praiseworthy thing to pray for the souls of the Faithful Departed.
